Young Thug Leaves Fans Shocked After Tweeting Random Question To Former Olympic Swimmer Michael Phelps From Behind Bars: Ain’t You Supposed To Be In Jail?

Young Thug isn’t letting a little thing like jail keep him from asking pressing questions!

Yesterday (Aug. 31) incarcerated rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, took to Twitter to ask former competitive swimmer Michael Phelps, 37, a question about his swimming capabilities. The 31-year-old rapper tweeted,

“I’m talking with my roommate and we’re wondering if you could swim 100 miles from the middle of the ocean back to shore – @MichaelPhelps”

Michael Phelps seemingly wasted no time in getting back to Young Thug. The Olympic gold medalist replied,

“Yeah. I think I could make it”

Following the random interaction between the two celebrities, many people were left wondering how Young Thug was seemingly able to fire off a tweet from behind bars.

As you may already know, Young Thug was arrested in Atlanta on May 9, for gang-related charges. Young Thug and fellow rapper Gunna, born Sergio Kitchens, were among 28 people associated with YSL who were charged in a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) indictment in a state court. The two rappers have both tried and failed to be released on bond. As of now, they are expected to remain behind bars until their trial kicks off in 2023.
