Tamera Mowry Trends on Twitter Over Joke That Biracial Couples Can Give Birth to Twins of Different Races
Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry may share the exact same DNA, but in the eyes of social media users, they are of two separate races.
The Sister, Sister and Seventeen Again stars share a close relationship with each other, but Tamera Mowry seems to always get the short end of the stick in the eyes of the public due to her interracial marriage — and Thursday (September 1) was no different. Tamera Mowry began trending on Twitter after someone made a joke about biracial twins. The initial tweet read,
“Just found out that when a biracial couple has twins there’s a chance that they can be born as two different races.”
One Twitter user said,
“Constance Wu just said she thought about k*lling herself because of what people said about her. We have no idea how Tamera truly feels. What’s sad is the unnecessary hate won’t come to an end. It’s only going to get worse.”
Another user said,
I don’t like how everyone treats Tamera. It’s disgusting and weird. All because she married a white man? Grow up.
Another Twitter user added,
“Man y’all stay forever coming at Tamera n her blackness and that’s hella sad. Imagine being joked on all your life n being seen as the lesser twin. Must be tough.”
I'm officially starting the TDL – Tamera Defense League.
Y'all joke too much on this app, why won't you leave this white woman alone!

Tia Mowry married actor Cory Hardrict in 2008. The couple shares two children, Cree, 11 and Cairo, 4. Tamera and former Fox News anchor Adam Housely have been married since 2011 — an interracial relationship that has drawn considerable criticism over the years.
Thursday wasn’t the first time the sisters have been at the center of social media comparisons because of their personal life decisions, and as a product of an interracial marriage herself, Tamera has always taken an emotional response to the negative criticism.
In 2014, she shared her feelings with Oprah Winfrey, alongside her twin sister Tia Mowry, about the hateful comments. Through tears, Tamera said,
“I get called ‘White man’s whore.’ The new one was, ‘back in the day, you cost $300, but now you’re giving it to him for free.’”
She continued:
“…people choose to look past love and spew hate. That’s what hurts me because I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life. Ever.”
Another Twitter user who spoke in Tamera‘s defense said she wishes Tia would do more to support her literal other half. They said,
“I hate that this clip of Tia roasting #Tamera trends as often as it does. I also hate that @TiaMowrydoesn’t speak against it & tell her fans to back off. Especially since later episodes of their show revealed this is a sensitive subject 4 Tamera & her sister’s teasing rly hurt.”
Many people have accused Adam Housely of being racist and remaining quiet during the resurgence of Black Lives Matter in 2020, which was sparked by the deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. While the couple has yet to address the recent claims, both Tamera and Adam Housely debunked the racism rumors in 2018.
Adam said,
“This is just for clarification so if you see any stupid people spewing lies…per usual…have them refer to this tweet. @TameraMowryTwo and I did not support Trump or Hillary and nowhere has there ever been anything said to prove such.”
He added,
“No I am not racist, or insensitive, or any other crap you spew. Yes I love people from all walks of life. I love to cook, be with my kids, coach soccer, tell stories, music of all types, people of all types.”
Tamera and Adam are parents to a son, Aden, 9, and daughter, Ariah, 6.
