Kanye West — Social Media Users React to Rapper’s New ‘White Lives Matter’ Attire Shown During YZY SZN 9 Fashion Show: Disgusting

Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) is making yet another controversial statement.

The DONDA artist — who previously made headlines for declaring that “slavery was a choice” and that he loves Donald Trump — is now in the spotlight once more after sporting a White Lives Matter t-shirt at his YZY SZN 9 presentation in Paris on Monday (October 3). Several models were also seen wearing the same top.

Ye’s attire decision led to the phrase “White Lives Matter” trending on Twitter. Many users commented to express their disapproval of the musician who, at one point, seemingly championed Black empowerment and was a strong advocate for his people, which was made clear in the majority of his lyrics.

One Twitter user said,

“From ‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people’ to ‘White Lives Matter’ is a hell of a timeline, and then be referred to as a ‘genius’ all throughout? Remember when he said slavery was a choice?”

Another user said,

“Kanye west making Black models wear “white lives matter” shirts is a culmination of his anti blackness and his immersion in white supremacy ideologies and methods. Disgusting”

According to another Twitter user,

“Kanye West was on instagram not too long ago talking about the Kardashians we’re corrupting his BLACK children… just to be wearing a White Lives Matter shirt”

And, of course, the negative reactions didn’t stop there.

Ye addressed a variety of topics during his opening remarks at the presentation, including how some media outlets had focused on the delayed start times of his earlier events, which he considered to be a byproduct of trying to deliver the best content.
