Lil Baby Shares His Upcoming Album Is Complete + Reveals Total Number Of Songs & Features On The Project
Rapper Lil Baby recently dished about what fans can expect from his new album ahead of its upcoming release.
On Monday (October 3), Atlanta rap artist Lil Baby, 27, took to his Twitter to announce he finally turned in his upcoming album “It’s Only Me” to his record label, along with some key details about what’s included on his next project.
Lil Baby, born Dominique Armani Jones, shared that his highly-anticipated album had been submitted while letting fans know it will have 23 tracks with a total of seven guest features. According to the “Yes Indeed” rapper, he doesn’t plan on putting out a deluxe version this time, a trend that has reportedly become common among many artists in the streaming era. In a tweet, Baby wrote,
“Finally Turned My Album In”
The rap star followed with,
“23 songs 7 Features No Deluxe”
Baby’s update on new music for fans comes just in time after the rapper recently upset concertgoers for missing one of his latest performances. As previously reported, Baby unintentionally caused a riot at Vancouver’s Breakout Festival in Canada after he announced that he was canceling his set last minute.
Video footage shows angry fans destroying sections of the PNE Amphitheater and lighting tents on fire while others toppled food stands and garbage dumpsters on Sunday (September 18).
Following the madness, Baby took to his social media on Monday (September 19) and issued a heartfelt apology to the concertgoers noting that he overworked himself and that his body shut down. He also promised he would make it up to them. The “Drip Too Hard” rapper wrote,
“I would like to start off by saying I truly apologize Vancouver, Canada , The Breakout Festival, and To Everyone who was in attendance! I have been going so hard these past few months without any breaks that it finally caught up with me. And My Body Completely Shut Down I owe you guys big time and will for sure make up for it soon.”
“It’s Only Me” will be a follow-up to Baby’s second studio album, 4x-platinum blockbuster “My Turn,” which dropped on February 28, 2020. The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, becoming his first chart-topping number-one album. The album topped the chart for five weeks making it one of the best performing albums of 2020. In March it became the longest-running album to stay inside the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
“My Turn” featured guest appearances from Gunna, 42 Dugg, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez with production from Tay Keith, Hit-Boy, Murda Beatz, Wheezy, and more. The album was supported by five singles: “Woah,” “Sum 2 Prove,” “Emotionally Scarred,” “All In,” and “The Bigger Picture.”
The album was certified quadruple platinum in February 2022. A deluxe edition, featuring six additional tracks, was released on May 1, 2020.
