Madonna Seemingly Comes Out As Gay, Fans React: Her PR Team Is Freaking Out Right Now
Pop icon Madonna seemingly revealed that she’s gay on Tik Tok over the weekend.
Madonna made quite a scene on Sunday (October 9) when she took to Tik Tok to seemingly come out as gay. Madonna is no stranger to controversy, and there’s no shortage of outrageous moments in her nearly five-decade career. Her announcement, however, falls within a current Tik Tok trend in which a person confirms their sexuality based on whether they successfully throw an object into a nearby target.

In the video posted on Sunday (October 9), a pink-haired Madonna is seen holding up pink underwear, while the caption on the clip read:
“If I miss, I’m Gay!”
Madonna tries to throw the underwear into a nearby bin, but, of course, they fall flat on the ground. Madonna then throws her hands in the air in a carefree gesture and walks away. The clip sent the “Frozen” singer’s 2.4 million fans into a frenzy in the comments.

Many fans brought up Madonna’s now-famous kiss with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 VMA Awards as a way to confirm she’s a part of the LGBTQ+ community. However, it’s important to note that Madonna later said that incident was her way of passing the “Queen of Pop” torch along to Spears and Aguilera. Fans also noted a more recent kiss with Nicki Minaj at the “Anaconda” rapper’s 30th birthday party back in 2012.
Madonna has been married twice, once to actor Sean Penn and later to British film director Guy Ritchie. The “Material Girl” singer has also been famously linked to male stars such as Dennis Rodman, Vanilla Ice, and Tupac. There have also been many rumors of a fling with the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.

In the 90’s, The Advocate called Madonna the greatest gay icon, praising her in an article saying:
“For the gay men who were there in the beginning, Madonna was the ultimate expression of in-your-face sexuality. She was self-possessed and uninhibited. In the midst of the AIDS crisis, when fear was rampant and gay men were dying at a horrifying rate, Madonna was among the first to take a stand, to say that it’s OK to be a gay man who is openly sexual.”
