American Music Awards Nominates Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, & GloRilla For ‘Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist’

It’s some stiff competition in this year’s American Music Awards “Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist” category. 

The 2022 American Music Awards nominations have been announced and the nods for the ceremonies categories have fans at the edge of their seats. Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Nicki Minaj, and GloRilla have been nominated to possibly take the win “Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist.” Grammy Award-winner Cardi B and newcomer GloRilla’s single “Tomorrow 2” has been No. 1 on the charts while their music video hit more than 20 million videos on YouTube.

Memphis rapper, GloRilla recently left the 2022 BET Hip-Hop awards with her first career win, receiving an award for “Best Breakthrough Artist.”

Latto also received her flowers at the 2022 Hip-Hop awards after she took home the win for “Song Of The Year” for the track that the girls love, “Big Energy.” On Wednesday (Oct. 5) Latto took to Instagram and said: 

“Thank you @bet for always giving me my flowers… JACKPOTS & LAMBS STAND TF UP!!! Thank you Mimi I love you 4L!!! New hits otw this just the beginning trust me we locked and loaded.”

Nicki Minaj has also been taking Hip-Hop by storm after the release of her hit single “Super Freaky Girl,” which is the lead single from her upcoming fifth studio album. The popular single debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in August, making it Nicki Minaj’s third number-one song on the chart. She also earned the biggest debut for a solo female rap song in Spotify history, hitting over three million streams.

As for Megan Thee Stallion, the “Hotties” adore her. As previously reported, Megan Thee Stallion recently appeared at TwitchCon where a die-hard fan jumped on stage, took the rapper’s hand, and turned her around in a 360 spin to admire her body. From the looks on Megan’s, born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, face, she was all for it but her security quickly removed the man from the stage.

As expected, music fans’ other all-time favorite artists have also been nominated in other categories of the American Music Awards. Grammy Award-winning artists Beyonce, Drake, and The Weeknd have been nominated for “Artist of the Year.”

Hip-Hop artists such as Drake, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk have been nominated for “Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist.” Muni Long, and Summer Walker join Beyonce in the competition to take the award for “Favorite Female R&B Artist.”
