Tamar Braxton Tells Kirk Franklin Why She Decided Against Getting A Brazilian Butt Lift: I’m 45, What I Need A BBL For?
Tamar Braxton once considered getting a Brazilian butt lift, better known as a BBL.
During a conversation on the Good Words with Kirk Franklin podcast, the singer and member of the Braxton clan shared that at one point, she considered going under the knife. According to Tamar Braxton,
“I been on social media so long and watching everybody on social media, do you know that I thought I wanted [a] BBL? … I’m 45, what I need a BBL for? Where I’m going?”

She continued,
“A BBL is booty shots. Where am I going? … The booty shots is what gives the females like, the silhouette basically of an ant.”
In response to why she no longer wants the procedure done, Tamar told Kirk Franklin,
“That’s not who I am, that’s me putting on another facade. That’s me putting on another face that I gotta keep up. It’s too expensive. And I can afford a BBL praise God, but it’s too expensive spiritually and mentally for me to live that way. That’s not who I am. Who am I pretending for?”
According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, surgeons carried out 40,000 butt augmentation procedures in 2020, generating $140 million in revenue. BBLs increased by 90.3% from 2015 to 2019.
Many famous people have undergone the operation and haven’t been embarrassed to admit it. The list includes Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, Blac Chyna, Amber Rose and Kylie Jenner.
