Garcelle Beauvais Shares That She Was Romantically Involved W/ Eddie Murphy: We Dated I Think For A Year Off & On
Garcelle BeauvaisĀ apparently had a thingĀ with Eddie Murphy, who knew?
During a segment for TV One, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed that a lot of women were interested in the award-winning actor/comedian back in the day, but she was one of the lucky ones. According to Garcelle Beauvais,
“Every woman on that set was trying to date Eddie Murphy, he was the commodity. And uh, we dated. We dated I think for a year off and on. And how do I say this, we had a really great connection. We really did. I loved, you know, obviously him, his mom, his family. We were dating, so.”

She continued,
“I once double booked though. I once had a date with Eddie and then I forgot I had a date with somebody else. This was in the early beginning when we first started dating. And so, they showed up at the same time and I didn’t know what to do. One was downstairs ringing my bell and one was in my house.”
The “set” Garcelle Beauvais is referring to appears to be that of Coming To America, which was released in 1988.
While she didn’t give an exact timeline of their romance, it’s safe to assume the former lovers did not overlap with Eddie Murphy‘s relationship with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy in 1993. The two became parents to his first five children before divorcing in 2006. Eddie Murphy now has 10 children with five different women, including a 15-year-old daughter with Mel B who he now has to pay $35,000 a month in child support for.
Beauvais has also moved on with her life, going on to become a two-time divorcee and a mother of three boys.
