Cardi B Lashes Out At Madonna Over Seemingly Shady Post Referring To Her As “B*tches” + The Two Later Makeup: I Talked To Madonna, It Was Beautiful
Looks like Cardi B isn’ taking disrespect from anyone, not even one of her idols.
The rap star had some heated words for iconic pop singer Madonna following a post she made about paving the way for sexually explicit content. Cardi B, 31, was seemingly offended after an instagram story posted to Madonna’s instagram account suggested a few of today’s big name celebrities only exist because of the “Like A Virgin” singers influence.
On the post, Madonna, 64, seemingly shaded Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, and Kim Kardashian’s racy media personalities. The post, explaining the super star singer’s sexual influence over today’s culture, read:
“30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. In addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman and Me kissing everyone….I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman. I was called a whore, a which a heretic, and the devil,”
She continued:
“Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked ass and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball.
You’re welcome b*tches”
Following the post the ended with a clown emoji, Cardi B took to twitter to address what she saw as an insult. The rapper reposted an old interview where she praised the original “Material Girl”, captioning the post:
“I literally payed this woman homage so many times cause I grew up listening to her …she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth .. These icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry that’s why I keep to myself”
Seemingly a little more heated, the grammy winning artist continued:
“SAY WAT YOU WANT TO SAY BUT DONT INSULT ME THE F*CK …nobody gonna lil girl me (specially a white woman)
Internet users went on to debate whether or not Cardi should’ve taken offense to the post. Some reiterated that Madonna is legendary and do credit her for paving the way for creators to be more sexually daring in their content. Cardi insisted that she wasn’t denying that truth, but had a problem with the demeaning tone used in the post. Madonna recently spoke about paving the way back in July, where she claimed pop artists today won’t have to go through many of the trials she did back in her prime.
However the feud was short lived as Cardi confirmed she was able to speak to Madonna via telephone. Shortly after her now deleted tweet were posted, the musician wrote:
“I talked to Madonna …It was beautiful ….Have a great day and drive safely yallll”
Madonna went on to show her fellow musician some love, to which Cardi retweet and echoed the same sentiments.
