Andy Cohen has publicly apologized to Garcelle Beauvais for the insensitivity he displayed towards her during a conversation on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 12 reunion.

On Monday (October 24), radio and television host Andy Cohen issued the “RHOBH” star an apology after he was called out by Bravo fans for seemingly not taking the issue about her sons receiving racist threats serious enough at the reunion.

The 54-year-old writer/producer took to his pop culture channel “Radio Andy” on SiriusXM and said,

“Everybody’s been talking about the Beverly Hills reunion. And I just want to say, I’ve been listening to everyone’s feedback about the reunion, and I really need to sincerely apologize, not only for diverting the topic but for not returning—even worse—to the serious conversation that was at hand.”

While expressing his regret for how he handled the reunion segment with Garcelle Beauvais, 55, Andy Cohen continued,

“I have deep admiration for Garcelle.”

Cohen went on to speak on his seeming lack of interest in Garcelle Beauvais’ feelings regarding conflict with frenemies Lisa Rinna and Erika Jayne. The Bravo host shared,

“She and I had a really good, productive conversation last Thursday, and I should have been more in tune with her feelings.”

He ended with,

“So, I just wanted to say that because I’ve been logging in and I get it.”

As previously reportedBeauvais confronted cast member Erika Jayne for cursing at her teenage son during an episode of the Bravo series, with Jayne blaming alcohol for the incident. As Beauvais continued to address Jayne’s potential “alcohol” problem in subsequent episodes, fans defending Jayne have opted to call Beauvais’ eldest son, Oliver Saunders, past substance abuse into question.

Some social media users, whom some suspect may be paid for “bots,” left comments under Beauvais’ 14-year-old twins Jax and Jaid pages attacking their 31-year-old brother, such as,

“Your brother Oliver is a drug addict but your mom is calling Erika an alcoholic and making her look bad? Make it make sense”

And,

“WHY IS YOUR MOM OBSESSED WITH ERIKA’S ALCOHOL INTAKE, SHOULDN’T SHE WORRY ABOUT YOUR BROTHER OLIVER DRUG INTAKE INSEAD?”

At the time, the “Coming to America” actress spoke out on social media, admitting that it was very difficult and hurtful to see her innocent children being attacked. Beauvais shared,

“I’m usually a very strong woman I’ve been raised to be strong my life has taught me to be strong but when it comes to my kids! It hurts it’s not OK I’ve been in tears all night it’s just a TV show people scream at your TV throw something at your TV but leave our kids alone #RHOBH”

During the reunion, she revealed that her teenage sons were also receiving racist threats, with one user DMing them “if it wasn’t for your white daddy you would have a knee on your neck” — seemingly referencing the murder of George Floyd.
