Adele Opens Up About Wishing She Got ‘The College Experience,’ Reveals Plans To Pursue Her English Lit Degree After Vegas Residency
Looks like superstar singer Adele will temporarily trade her mic for study books.
The “Easy On Me” singer spoke to fans recently and admitted she regrets not attending college when she was younger. However, she added that she plans to do so soon! Adele, born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, 34, says she’s headed back to school after she completes her highly anticipated Vegas residency.
Adele is set to begin the sin city concert series on Nov. 18th and is slated to perform a total of 32 shows.
During the Q&A, Adele talked about getting her college degree and being an English Literature teacher in another life. She stated:
“After Vegas I really want to get a degree in English Literature….If I hadn’t made it in my singing, I think I would definitely be a teacher. I think I’d be an English Lit teacher.”
The “30” artist went on to clarify that even is she doesn’t do anything professional with her education, she will still be glad just to have the skills, adding that she’ll be taking her courses online. She continued:
“I definitely feel like I use my passion of English Lit in what I do. But even though it’s not like I’d go on to get a job from my degree, I wish I had gone to university, I wish I’d had that experience….I won’t go to a university, I’ll do it online and with a tutor, but that’s my plan for 2025. It’s just to get the qualifications.”
Originally, the Vegas set was supposed to begin back in January of this year. The musician previously explained in a tearful video to fans that the show’s creative details weren’t coming together properly, forcing her to reschedule.

Sources claimed, however, that emotional breakdowns due to ongoing issues with her sports agent boyfriend RichPaul were truly the reason for the stalled concert series.
Adele quickly shut down those rumors, posting a slightly cryptic caption to her Instagram following news that she and Paul were having issues.
