Former NBA Player Delonte West Arrested For The Second Time In Two Weeks, Charges Include Public Intoxication & Trespassing

Continue to keep Delonte West in your prayers.

According to reports, the former Dallas Mavericks star continues to struggle with his mental state and was arrested again after being detained just two weeks prior. As previously reported, the 39-year-old recently had a stay in a Virginia county jail for trespassing and public intoxication. New reports state that West was taken to the same county jail again on mirroring charges weeks later.

Reportedly, the most recent incident took place on October 29th, roughly a mile away from where the previous arrest occurred. The report says that residents of Fairfax County called the police due to a man hanging around and being drunk. Upon arrival, police cited they found West “lying next to a car with an open door” and subsequently arrested and charged him with misdemeanor intoxication in public. A court date is reportedly set for January.

West has been making headlines in recent years after fans spotted him panhandling back in September 2020. Several affiliated individuals, including Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, reached out to the former basketball player to assist. While it seemed West was heading in the right direction, with Cuban giving hopeful updates regularly, the progress was unfortunately not permanent.

Ten months out of rehab, it was reported that West was arrested in Florida for public intoxication. The ex NBA’er opened up about his addiction and struggles with mental health subsequently, revealing that he’s losing his memory. Weeks prior to his recent arrests, Cuban insinuated that he was taking a step back from trying to assist his former player, stating:

“It’s a struggle for him. I mean, addiction is awful. And mental illness is awful. He’s at the point in his life where he’s got to want to be helped.”

Despite having a Big3 tryout back in March and a new job with a flooring company, it seems West is still battling some tough issues.
