Future Seemingly Confirms Reports That He Changed His Last Name From ‘Wilburn’ To ‘Cash’: BAG SECURED
Looks like rap star Future is truly all about the money!
The “Mask Off” rapper seemingly confirmed recent reports that he’s made moves to legally have his last name changed to Cash. Future, 38, was given the name Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn at birth. However, the Grammy-Award-winning musician appears to believe his new surname suits him better.

Following reports the Atlanta native filed docs to have his chosen name legalized, Future reacted via social media. Reposting a picture from one of the stories, the rapper wrote the caption:
“BAG SECURED Da BIGGEST”

Though the legal paperwork has not been publicly obtained, Future’s Wikipedia page has been updated to feature his reported new last name. The site also references publications that have reported on the rapper’s apparent name change.
Going from Wilburn to Cash is certainly in line with the money moves the musician has been making as of late. As previously reported, Future sold off a significant portion of his 2004 – 2020 catalog recently in a reported big-money deal. Publishing rights to hit records such as “Jumpman,” a collab record with Drake, and “Selfish” feat. Rihanna were reportedly included in the sale.

The exact amount for the purchase remains undisclosed, however, a source stated the number is between $10-$99 million. Future received some backlash to the news. Fans questioned why he would sell the rights to his music when the lucrativeness and rareness of artists owning their masters is well known. The famed musician seemingly gave a simple response, tweeting:
“Unsuccessful people have no clue how success works.”
