Jay Leno Hospitalized w/ Severe Facial Burns After Car Fire
Jay Leno was admitted to a burn center after a freak car fire left him with a serious injury to his face.
According to reports, the former “Tonight Show” host and car collector was in a Los Angeles garage where he stores his cars on Sunday (November 13) when one of the vehicles erupted into flames. Sources confirmed that the flames severely burned the left side of Jay Leno’s face, but did not injure his eye or ear.
Reports state that the entertainer’s impressive car collection includes over 180 vehicles, such as exotic cars, hypercars, and museum-grade artifacts. Jay Leno’s garage also features numerous affordable and attainable cars. It’s unclear which of his vehicles may have malfunctioned.
The 72-year-old comedian was reportedly transported to the Grossman Burn Center in L.A. where he remains. Jay Leno’s condition is currently unknown. In addition, he has canceled all of his engagements for the duration of the week.
Jay Leno, real name James Leno, was scheduled to appear at the Financial Brand conference in Las Vegas on Sunday night but was forced to cancel shortly before. An email notice to the conference attendees read,
“His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling. All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”
