Cardi B To Make Surprise Performance At AMAs
Exciting news for Cardi B fans!
Recent reports state the rap star is officially set to make a surprise performance at this year’s American Music Awards show. The show will take place later today (November 20th) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Cardi B, 30, was nominated for an AMA this year but was originally not slated to perform. The “Money” rapper faced off against fellow rappers Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Latto for Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist. Ultimately, it seems Minaj took home the award.

It was also expected that Cardi may not be attending the awards show. The event comes a couple of weeks after the tragic death of Migos rapper Takeoff. As we reported, Kirshnik “Takeoff” Ball, was shot and killed in Houston during an alleged dispute at the start of this month. The slain rapper was 1/3 of the Migos trio, which also includes Cardi’s husband of 5 years Offset as well as Takeoff’s uncle Quavo. Takeoff was only 28 years old at the time of his passing.

Though it’s not reported if Cardi will be appearing for a solo performance, one could assume she may perform alongside GloRilla during her AMA debut. The fellow rappers’ collab “Tomorrow 2” landed GloRilla her first #1 record on Billboard hot 100. GloRilla also received her first Grammy nomination for her single “F.N.F.”
Chris Brown was also originally slated to perform at the awards show this year. However, the “Under The Influence” singer called out the show earlier today (November 20th) for pulling his performance last minute.
Chris Brown was suppose to do Michael Jackson tribute for the 40th anniversary of Thriller (the album) at the #AMAs this Sunday.

Reportedly, Brown was supposed to lead the Michael Jackson tribute performance. However, the decorated singer claims the show axed him for “reasons unknown”.

The AMAs will air live tonight on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
