Nick Cannon Remembers His Late Son, Zen, On The One-Year Anniversary Of His Death: Losing A Child Has To Be The Heaviest, Most Dark, & Depressive Experience

Nick Cannon took to his social media to pen an emotional message in memory of his baby boy, Zen Scott Cannon.

If you didn’t know, last December, Nick Cannon and model/influencer Alyssa Scott’s son, Zen, passed away after a progressive bout with brain cancer.

Today, Monday (Dec. 5), marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating loss. In a heartbreaking post, which was shared on his Instagram account, Nick Cannon expressed the insufferable amount of pain he’s undergone since the infant’s tragic demise.

The Wild ‘n Out creator wrote:

“Physically I’m definitely on the mend but Mentally and Spiritually I’m broken. Been tossing and turning all night, and as much as I know I need rest, last night I couldn’t sleep at all. I can’t believe it’s been a year already since the toughest day of my life occurred. Such a painful anniversary. Losing a child has to be the heaviest, most dark and depressive experiences that I will never get over. A mixture of guilt, pain, and sorrow is what I suppress daily.”

He continued, detailing how the youngster’s sudden passing prompted a void that can’t ever be filled.

“I am far from perfect and often fall short and make decisions in my life that many question, but anyone who knows me knows my heart. I love hard, I love big, and I love with my entire Heart and Soul and I just wish my Little Man could’ve felt more of that love while he was here on Earth. One of my spiritual leaders recently told me that I am in the midst of one of the most challenging seasons of my life, but encouraged me to be steadfast and know that all of this will only make me stronger, and to not lean on my own understanding but to rely on the peace that surpasses all.”

Cannon concluded the short essay by stating that–despite his previous post–prayers were, indeed, needed. Last week, the 42-year-old announced that he was in the hospital battling a case of pneumonia.

“But let me tell you, it’s tough… I know a few days ago I wrote a post from my hospital bed saying I will be okay and I just needed rest so don’t waste your prayers on me but I can definitely use those prayers right now… Continue to Peacefully Rest My Son, Zen Scott Cannon. We Love you Eternally.”

Currently, the mother of Cannon’s fallen child, Alyssa Scott, is pregnant with the pair’s miracle baby!

This past October, Alyssa Scott revealed her pregnancy in a photo alongside her daughter, Zeela, from a previous partner. Following the news, a little over a week later, she confirmed that Cannon was the father of the forthcoming bundle of joy with a look at their maternity shoot.

The new bun in the oven will make Cannon’s twelfth offspring and Scott’s third.

We send our best wishes to Cannon and his family during this time.
