GloRilla Receives Backlash For Personal Assistant Ad Paying $550/Week, Rapper Responds: If You Want A Higher Pay, Pay For Your Own Flights & Travel

Rap star GloRilla is in need of an assistant, but many don’t agree with her compensation offer.

After posting a personal assistant ad online, the Memphis native received a wave of backlash for what many have deemed insufficient pay. However, GloRilla took to social media shortly after to explain why her proposed rate is valid.

Speaking on the matter, GloRilla – born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, 23, stated:

“First of all your flights get paid for and your travel. If you want a higher pay, pay for your own flights and your own travel and see how much them $500 a** flight tickets be.”

The “F.N.F.” artist went on to suggest that paying $1,200/week salary and purchasing flights is simply not financially smart for her. GloRilla explained that she travels on a weekly basis, so paying for travel expenses regularly is also part of the job’s commission.

Further explaining her reasoning, the newly Grammy-nominated artist clarified that most things listed under the job description aren’t regular duties. She stated:

“You really don’t gotta do sh*t but be with me everyday….Go pick up my clothes for me….you gotta have all my sh*t with you….you really my errand runner….and I really don’t have much of them to run….It’s really not that hard….half the sh*t on that list is if it really come down to it,”

Glo’s fellow musician, R&B singer Summer Walker also faced backlash for a similar reason earlier this month. The soon-to-be-mother-of-two stated she was looking for an assistant, but required them to be “white or gay.”

After fans bashed the songstress for seemingly excluding straight Black men and women from the job, she responded by stating:

“Everyone I’ve hired my whole career has been Black besides Ro [her photographer], it’ll be okay.”

GloRilla followed up with a few tweets after posting the video explanation, doubling down on her stance that the pay is more than enough by referencing her own pre-fame income. In a set of now-deleted tweets, she wrote:

“I never asked nunna you millionaires dat makee dat ina day to be my assistant I’m talking about da people who want an opportunity!!!”

Adding:

“One more thing , da pay must went up from last year cause when I was working at Amazon I was making 550 ina week 40hrs slavingggggg I might need to work wherever y’all rich a** at shi**** f*ck allat”
