Ice-T’s Wife Coco Austin Slammed Online After Posting Video Of Young Daughter Twerking

Coco Austin is currently facing a lot of heat, and it’s all due to a social media video gone wrong.

On Monday (Dec. 26), Coco Austin (wife of rapper/actor Ice-T) took to her Instagram account to share (what was supposed to be) some cherishable moments of holiday fun-time with her three million followers on the platform.

In a quick clip uploaded to her profile, she and a few of her loved ones are seen huddled around her and Ice-T’s seven-year-old daughter, Chanel, as the youngster is imitating the infamous gif of ‘Bob’s Burgers’ character Tina Belcher “getting her twerk on.”

The caption of the now-controversial reel read:

“Gotta love family time! The adults in our family were doing a TikTok and Chanel runs out in the middle to bust a move to make us laugh.. She loves to joke #tinabobburbers #bobsburgers #tinabelcher #dancemovies.”

However, a (seemingly) harmless moment of Christmas fun didn’t sit too well with Coco Austin’s followers, and little Chanel’s dance of choice triggered ill comments about her mother’s parenting skills.

Most felt that the moves paired with the background song, “Shake It” by M.C. Shy-D, were highly inappropriate.

A fellow Instagram user wrote,

“Let is be a black woman cheering her daughter on while she’s Twerking the media will have a field day with it. But a White woman is all giggles and laughs.”

Another individual added:

“I don’t find this ok, especially on social media. There’s so many sick minds out here, this child’s safety and privacy should be kept better. But, to each their own.”

Following the backlash, Austin thanked a supporter who sided with the fact that her post was only coming from a place of clean humor and was taken out of context.

The fan said,

“I normally wouldn’t agree with a little girl twerking but [Coco] can do no wrong in my eyes. I love me some [Coco]. Your daughter is a doll and I know in my heart it wasn’t made to look like she was twerking just simply dancing & busting a move. Nothing malicious about this. You are a great mom! Chanel made me chuckle shes so funny her laugh is contagious, I love it.”

Of course, that didn’t stop the negativity from flooding Austin’s comment section. As of now, the TV star has yet to directly address the naysayers.
