Megan Thee Stallion — Fans & Critics Flood Rapper’s Comment Section Following Tory Lanez Guilty Verdict: ‘She Sacrificed Her Momma & Sent An Innocent Black Man To Jail’

The Tory Lanez shooting trial has concluded, and social media users have plenty to say.

Last week rapper Tory Lanez, 30, was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion, 27, back in July 2020. The Canadian musician is now awaiting sentencing, which could result in him spending more than 20 years behind bars.

Following the verdict, many fans and critics took to Megan’s Instagram page to give their thoughts on the case. Some users seem to be convinced Lanez is innocent of any wrongdoings. While leaving nasty comments under the “Savage” rapper’s page and attacking her character, naysayers blamed Megan for “wrongfully” having Lanez arrested.

There were many other users, however, who showered Megan with support. Fans praised the Grammy-Award-winning artist for her courage during the traumatic time and celebrated her receiving justice.

As previously reported, there were many ups and downs during the trial that lasted nearly two weeks. Reportedly, a witness to the shooting claims to have seen both a man and a woman holding the gun. The testimony led many to believe Megan’s ex-BFF Kelsey Nicole Harris was the one who actually pulled the trigger, shooting Megan in the foot. When asked about whether or not Lanez shot Megan, Kelsey seemingly had a memory lapse. The social media influencer told the judge repeatedly she wasn’t certain about the events that happened that evening. However, it’s important to note that Kelsey previously told prosecutors Tory did in fact shoot Megan.

In the end, Lanez was found guilty and is currently set to be sentenced on January 27th. His charges include assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence. Along with the potential of over 20 years in jail, Lanez could also be deported as a result of the conviction.
