Ashanti Is Ready To Slow Down, Get Married & Have Kids: There’s A Lot Of Guys That Want To Be My Baby Daddy

Ashanti is ready to slow down a little bit so she can smell the roses!

Well-known entertainer Ashanti is no stranger to hard work! The “Foolish” singer has been in the spotlight since she was only a teenager. Over the years the world has watched as the now-42-year-old put out multiple hit songs. Ashanti’s 2002 debut project earned her many awards, including eight Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, and a Grammy!

In addition to music, Ashanti also has a few notable acting roles under her belt. In 2005, she made her feature film debut in “Coach Carter” and the following year she starred in the cult classic film “John Tucker Must Die.”

It now looks like Ashanti is ready to add the role of “mother” to her resume. During a recent interview, she shared,

“I’m hustling and doing what I need to do now, so I can chill a little bit.”

At some point in the near future, after she’s able to take a break from her current projects, Ashanti is seemingly looking forward to building a family of her own. She added,

“But I have to make sure it’s with the right person.”

She then noted,

“Trust me, there’s a lot of guys that want to be my baby daddy — and they’ve tried.”

As far as the type of mother Ashanti sees herself being, the “Happy” singer will be taking a few pages from her own mother’s parenting book. She said,

“If I have an ounce of my mom’s skills, I’m superior, honestly, because my mom is the sh*t.”

She added,

“My dad is cool too, and my sister. But my mom’s a different breed. They don’t make human beings like my mom.”

Over the 20 years of her successful career, Ashanti has been pretty quiet about her dating life. However, in the early 2000s, she did have a very public relationship with rapper Nelly, 48. According to reports, the pair eventually broke up after a decade of dating. Recently the former love birds made headlines following a joint performance they gave of their 2008 collaboration “Body On Me.” Fans couldn’t help but noticed the chemistry they shared while on stage.

During an interview earlier this month, Ashanti shut down claims that they were back together. However, when asked if there was a chance they could rekindle their romance in the future all she said was,

“I mean…”
