Yo Gotti & Angela Simmons Seemingly Confirm Relationship After Sharing New Year’s Photos Together
They say persistence is key!
That certainly seems to have proven true for rapper Yo Gotti, who recently went public with his longtime crush Angela Simmons, years after rapping about their union in a song.
Back in 2016, Yo Gotti, born Mario Simms, 41, spit a line about having a crush on Angela Simmons, 35. In his hit record “Down In The DM’s”, he stated:
“I just followed Angela Simmons / I got a crush on Angel Simmons / They like d*mn Gotti, you bold / f*ck it imma let the world know”
Back in October of this year, the pair sparked dating rumors after being spotted vacationing together. Now, it looks like they are ready to let the world in on their budding romance! Both Gotti and Simmons posted photos to their instagram from their elegant all black New Year’s Eve ensemble, which they seemingly spent together.
On Gotti’s page, the Memphis rap star shared a video of the two toasting and sipping champagne with the caption:
“Ain loss a crush since High School”
Additionally, the “Rack It Up” artist shared steamy photos with Simmons, one where he’s grabbing her behind with the caption:
“Happy New Year 2023”
On Angela’s page, the socialite and philanthropist shared classic pics of the new couple with the caption:
“You are all I need and more”
After Gotti made his declaration of love for Simmons back in the day, the reality star seemingly declined his advances. Angela went on to become engaged to and have a child with Sutton Tennyson. However, the couple broke off the relationship before they made it to I do, and Tennyson was tragically murdered a couple of years later.
Gotti shot another shot at Simmons while she was engaged on a 2017 record with Chris Brown titled “Save It For Me”. On the song he stated:
“Passed my number to Angela / I thought I had her / Her n*gga cuffed her, married, it made me madder/ I respect it, I’m moving on, but the truth is I want her badder / Maybe me sayin’ her name made him move faster,”
Though it took some time, it looks like his patience paid off. As far as his previously relationships, Gotti was reportedly married once to a woman named Lakeisha Mims, who he reportedly shares two children with. Reportedly, the rap star also has four other kids.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
