Paula Abdul’s Business Partner Slams Tommie Lee For Claiming The Singer Stole Her Sunglasses Design: I Suggest You Cease & Desist From Accusing Or Maligning Her In Any Way Or You Will Be The One Being Sued

Paula Abdul is being accused of idolizing Tommie Lee’s sunglass illustration.

Singer and dancer Paula Abdul appeared in Las Vegas on Wednesday (Jan. 4.) to launch her line of “smart audio glasses” called “IdolEyes” but amid the celebration of her entrepreneurship, she is being accused of stealing the design from “Love & Hip Hop” alum Tommie Lee.

Tommie Lee, who previously launched her sunglass brand Kilt Frames, took to Instagram yesterday (Jan. 4) to call out her business partner and the former American Idol judge for allegedly stealing her “cat eye” sunglass idea. As she shared that she’s “discouraged and heartbroken” over the situation, Lee, 38, said:

“To further explain this, the company Famecast that I was doing business with, I gave them a model, I gave them the idea of the design ‘cat eye’ that I wanted to do, that I wanted to push.”

The Atlanta rapper continued:

“You could take a phone call from your lenses. Created that dropped it. They then went behind my back and had Paula to now push it as her own and change the name of my frames.”

She added:

“To all the ignorant people in the back that’s making it like ‘oh she didn’t –’ Yes I did! And I have all of the – I have pen, my name, my lens, my shape, my style.”

The technology platform got a hold of Lee’s viral video and responded in disbelief. Famecast wrote:

“On behalf of Famecast, we are shocked at your comments. Damecast has worked in good faith to support you, having invested tens of thousands of dollars in an effort to make your style a success. You are still the only person selling the style to which your refer that appears on kiltframes.com. Famecast has and will continue to honor our word in every regard. We are always available to discuss any concerns.”

JagentPR, the team behind Paula Abdul’s smart sunglasses also responded to Lee’s accusations against their client. They wrote:

“Your comment is outrageous. Paula has been a creative force in all realms for decades. This is simply another leap for her. She’s never heard of you, met you, seen or known of you. After doing my due diligence, which you obviously did not, I learned that you indeed had a deal for a style of glasses of which you have sold 7 pairs. Certainly no company in their right mind would expand that deal to other styles – which, by the way, Paula was instrumental in the design and development of the styles available under her banner of IdolEyes, a name she has trademarked. I suggest you cease and desist from accusing or maligning her in any way or you will be the one being sued.”

Paula Abdul is yet to respond to Lee’s allegations. Meanwhile, the 60-year-old took to Instagram moments before her launch to virtually promote “IdolEyes,” which allows consumers to answer phone calls, listen to music, podcasts, and connect to Bluetooth.
