Regina King Shares Moving Tribute To Her Son In First Post Since His Death
Regina King is remembering her late son, Ian.
As previously reported, last Jan. Regina King’s son Ian Alexander Jr. died by suicide a few days after his 26th birthday. He was the entertainer’s only child, whom she shared with her ex-husband, record producer Ian Alexander Sr.
Today (Jan. 20) Regina King shared a touching tribute to her son online in her first IG post since his passing. “The Harder They Fall” actress uploaded a video of a floating lantern gliding through the air in the dark. She captioned the emotional post,
“January 19th is Ian’s Worthday. As we still process his physical absence, we celebrate his presence. We are all in different places on the planet…so is Ian. His spirit is the thread that connects us.”
She added,
“Of course orange is your favorite color…Its the fire and the calm. I see you in everything I [breathe]. My absolute favorite thing about myself is being ….Regina the mother of Ian the GodKing. Continue to shine bright, my guiding light.”

As expected, since Ian’s death, Regina King has taken a huge step back from the spotlight. However, last May, her cousin, Lawrence Cain Jr., gave fans an update on how she was doing. He shared a screenshot image of himself seemingly on a facetime call with Regina King and wrote,
“Seeing Cuzzo smile made today complete. Continue to pray for the mother’s who are living without their children.”

Under her latest remembrance post, countless people left Regina King encouraging comments.

We continue to send our condolences and prayers to Regina King and her family.
