Ellen Pompeo’s Exit From ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Is Reportedly Being Celebrated By Castmates: No One Will Miss Her
Rumor has it that TV star Ellen Pompeo isn’t the greatest co-worker.
According to a report from Radar Online, several individuals working on the long-running TV drama “Grey’s Anatomy” were delighted when the 53-year-old actress decided it was time to retire from the show.
As previously reported, back in August of last year, news broke that Ellen Pompeo would be taking a step back from the series after 14 seasons. Recently, fans everywhere were disappointed when her character seemingly made her grand exit from the show.

Portraying the series star Meredith Grey, Ellen Pompeo achieved significant notoriety during her time on the project, winning both a Golden Globe and SAG award. However, inside sources claim despite her talent, the TV star was not well-liked among her supporting cast and crew members.
Reportedly, one source stated:
“She has a colossal ego and was constantly throwing her weight around when it came to other people’s performances and storylines…Some people called her a tyrant and they’re glad they won’t be seeing her around anymore.”
Adding:
“She became overbearing…That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, from the production assistants all the way up to her co-stars. Truthfully, no one will miss her.”
Reportedly, Popmeo was raking in around $550,000 an episode, marking her as TV’s highest-paid actress of the moment. Still, the mother of three says the on-screen gig has become outdated, adding that she’s looking for more of a challenge these days. During a recent interview, she spoke about her departure from the show, reportedly stating:
“The show has been incredible to me and I’ve loved a lot of the experience. Listen, it’s just, I gotta mix it up a little bit…I gotta do something new…I mean, 19 years, that’s more than people keep their kids in their house, like people keep their kids in their house until they’re 18 and then they send them off to college. So this is like me like going away to college.”
However, according to the legendary Debbie Allen, who also stars and produces for the show, fans will certainly see more of Meredith Grey. During a recent interview, Allen reportedly stated about Pompeo’s exit:
“Meredith Grey is taking a journey to another direction, [but] she’s still alive. She’ll still be coming back to the show…The truth is, it’s not her last episode…[She’s] leaving Grey Sloan [Memorial Hospital], not Grey’s Anatomy.“
