Marvel’s live adaptation of their comic-book superhero starring Chadwick Boseman premiered back in 2018. The film achieved massive success, grossing a worldwide total of $1.382 billion. Additionally, the film became the highest-grossing solo superhero film ever, the third-highest-grossing superhero film overall, the ninth-highest-grossing film of all time, and the highest-grossing film by a Black director ever.
On the heels of the success of the first movie, a second installment was green-lit. However, the movie’s execution changed after Boseman’s sudden and tragic passing.
