Nicki Minaj Claims Labels Are Paying For ‘Viral Tweets’ To ‘Diss’ Her

Nicki Minaj is accusing music labels of paying people to say negative things about her online.

On Tuesday (March 7) a snippet from her audio live stream with her friend/TV personality Rah Ali and media personality Milagro Gramz was posted on Twitter. During their chat, Nicki Minaj alleged that record labels are using social media to plot against her. She said,

“Labels and management companies paying for viral tweets and paying for Nicki diss tweets and all the – so now it’s kind of like, if I don’t remind them that we’re actually here to rap, who will?”

The 30-second clip ended with Nicki Minaj making it clear that her name should not even be spoken in the same breath as some of the other rappers.

“And then on top of that, don’t ever put me in the same m*therf*cking sentence, you know. You know don’t use my name -.”

The “Feeling Myself” artist has been getting busy since her February return to social media following a three-month hiatus. She first surprised her Barbz with the new single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which samples Lumidee’s 2003 hit song “Never Leave You.”

On March 3, the 40-year-old rapper announced on Queen Radio that she now has her own record label. She has yet to disclose the name of the label but she did reveal that she has signed some artists already — Nana Fofie, London Hill Tate Kobang, and Rico Danna. She said,

“When I get behind an artist, y’all know how I do sh*t for people that’s not even signed to me. Imagine what Imma do for the ones that’s signed.”

She then gave her fans an idea of what type of music they can expect to come from the label.

“Don’t think my label is just rap, or Black, or anything. We got some other genres of music.”
