Chet Hanks Responds To Comedian Eric André Calling Him ‘Emotionally Disturbed’: ‘There’s A Lot F*cking Weirdos In Hollywood, But I Didn’t Think You Were One of Them’
Chet Hanks is not here for Eric André calling him “emotionally disturbed.”
The comedian made the remark prior to the premiere of season six of The Eric André Show, alluding to Chet Hanks‘ behavior on the set of the program. Eric André reportedly referred to Chet Hanks as the “tough cookie” who “broke our crew,“ comparing his actions to the Rust movie controversy in which Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with a gun he was informed was unloaded.
Eric André said,
“He is… emotionally disturbed. He stole a motorcycle and rode it around. He almost knocked a bunch of grips and gaffers off their ladders. It was very dangerous for us. It was very dangerous. He tried to prank us back, but we edited out all his bullsh*t! He’s not well. How did Colin Hanks come out so good and Chet Hanks come out so bad?”
Chet Hanks, however, wasn’t here for André‘s criticism or allegations. The actor — who just so happens to be the son of Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson — explained in a selfie-style video response posted to his social media accounts that he was only attempting to match the energy on the Adult Swim series.
In the video clip, a shirtless Hanks claimed to have “outshined” André on his own show.

Hanks said,
“You must just not like the fact that I outshined you on your own f*cking show. And honestly, when I was on there, the dude seemed shook. Because when I came out and sat down, like he seemed like genuinely nervous… I don’t know what it was. There’s a lot of fu*king weirdos in Hollywood, but I didn’t think you were one of them. I thought you were funny and cool, but turns out you’re just a pu*sy.”
André obviously isn’t afraid of a little back and forth, because he reposted the clip to his Instagram Stories. He added,
“Everything Chet Hanks just said about me is a f*cking, bold-faced lie. He’s a f*cking liar. And I dare him to take a f*cking DNA test and prove that Tom Hanks is his fucking father.”
It’s safe to assume that Hanks won’t be making another appearance on The Eric André Show any time soon.
