Coco Jones Mistook E-40 For Busta Rhymes: ‘I Was Mortified!’
It looks like Coco Jones made an embarrassing mistake.
During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Coco Jones revealed that she mistook E-40 for Busta Rhymes while at this year’s Roc Nation Brunch. Jones was eager to meet Busta Rhymes after going viral for her performance of his ‘Look At Me Now’ verse during an appearance on Wild ‘n Out.

Jones explained,
“When I was at the Roc Nation Brunch, I saw Busta Rhymes. So, I go up to him and I’m like, ‘You had just seen my cover, my freestyle of your thingamabob on Wild ‘N Out.’ And he was like, ‘Yeah…And I’m like, ‘Remember? [Recites part from the ‘Look At Me Now’ verse], you know?’ And he was like, ‘That’s good shawty, that’s good.’”
Coco Jones continued,
“I walk away and I’m also looking up the lyrics to ‘Look At Me Now,’ ’cause I’m thinking, ‘That wasn’t right, something was off.’ So I’m looking it up, and I’m sayin’, ‘Busta Rhymes… who was that?’ And my manager goes, ‘Girl, that’s E-40.’ I was so mortified.”
According to Jones, E-40 later hit someone up and said,
“I think Coco thinks I’m Busta Rhymes.”
Thankfully, the singer’s manager cleared up the entire thing.
Coco Jones is a singer and actress who rose to prominence by starring in the Disney Channel film “Let It Shine” and was featured on Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing.” Her career catapulted after being cast as Hilary Banks in the dramatic “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air “reboot, “Bel-Air.” The 25-year-old is also receiving attention for her vocal skills and was recently signed to Def Jam Records.
