Byron Allen Shares Love For Tyler Perry Amid Rumors Of Bidding War For BET
It’s all love between Byron Allen and Tyler Perry.
The billionaire media tycoon recently expressed that despite rumors of a prospective bidding war for BET, he and Tyler Perry have no animosity against one another.

Byron Allen said,
“I love Tyler, [the press is trying] to put us against each other. If he gets it, it’s great. If I get it, it’s great.”
Allen previously referred to purchasing the network as a “big opportunity.”
Both industry icons have let it be known that they’re interested in buying BET Media Group in the event that Paramount Global decides to sell the famed company. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is also a contender.

If Tyler Perry wins the bid he’ll more than likely already feel at home. The famed producer has developed many projects for BET, including “All the Queen’s Men,” “Sistas,” and “Oval.”
Meanwhile, Byron Allen‘s media empire includes 36 broadcast TV stations, 10 networks, TheGrio, and the Weather Channel. He has pledged to invest $10 billion to become “the largest owner of big four network affiliates in America” in the next one to two years.
As far as adding BET to his lineup goes, Allen said,
“If it’s possible, I’m gonna take as much of it as I can.”
