Sunny Hostin Reveals How Sherri Shepherd Helped Her Negotiate Her Contract On ‘The View’: ‘She Got Me Paid!’

In TV host Sunny Hostin’s case, knowing the salary’s and contract deals of her peers greatly increased her ability to ask for more money, and she credited the feat all to Sherri Shepherd.

While visiting Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talkshow “Sherri”, Sunny Hostin, 54, expressed her gratitude while telling the story of how the actress helped her get paid. Apparently, Sherri Shepherd, 56, contacted Hostin before she signed on as a recurring host on “The View”, divulging needed information about what others in the industry were being paid. She recalled the story, stating:

“I don’t even know if you remember this, but, when I signed my deal sheet you gave me a call. I don’t know how you got my number,”

She continued:

“You were like, ‘I heard you’re coming on the show,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m joining the show.’ She was like, ‘Did they give you a car stipend?’ I was like, ‘No…You basically went over your salary for the entire time you were there, and you also gave me Jenny McCarthy’s salary,” 

And added:

“She got me paid!”

Reportedly, Hostin joined the talk show back in 2016 while Shepherd exited as a permanent contributor back in 2014. Jenny McCarthy was brought on as the shows 11th co-host, but ultimately walked away due to creative differences. It seems Shepherd was happy to exchange the information as the same favor was given to her. She went on to reveal that famed TV personality Rosie O’Donnell, who also temporarily appeared as a host on “The View”, gave her the inside scoop prior to her joining the cast in 2007.

Shepherd spoke on the situation, stating:

“Rosie O’Donnell gave me everybody’s salary and hers, you gotta pay it forward….We gotta stick together!”
