Shemar Moore Slams CBS Following The Cancellation Of His Hit Series S.W.A.T.: ‘It’s A F*cking Mistake’

Fans and actors of the TV series S.W.A.T. are not happy with the shows cancellation.

After having the rug abruptly pulled from up under the CBS police drama after 6 seasons on air, the shows lead actor Shemar Moore is asking fans to help him protest the series end.

Reportedly, Shemar Moore, 53, took to instagram to express his disappointment with how the network ended the show. According to him, the actors and crew felt strongly that they were led to believe they would enjoy a seventh season after consecutive years of good ratings. The report notes that “S.W.A.T.” was averaging around 6.8 million total viewers per episode in its last (now final) season, according to Nielsen ratings.

Shemar Moore has portrayed lead character LAPD Sgt. Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson since the shows premiere back in 2017. Speaking about the shows success and subsequent cancellation in an instagram post, the entertainer reportedly stated:

“For CBS, last two years we’ve been killing it… We’ve done nothing wrong. We did everything that was asked for.”

Adding:

“Now let’s get beyond me, ‘S.W.A.T.’ is the most diverse show on CBS.”

Moore went on to discuss how the network was previously admonished for its lack of diversity. Additionally, he highlighted that he is the only African American male lead on broadcast television, “not including streaming or cable”. He reportedly continued:

“CBS, when I got hired to be Hondo on ‘S.W.A.T.’, was getting a lot of flak for lack of diversity. If I post this, and I think I might, I will get in a lot of trouble with CBS because I’m calling them out. Because they’ve been wonderful to me for 26 out of my 29-year career. But to abruptly get told that you’re canceled when you led us to believe last week — and the week before, and the week before that — that we would have some semblance of a season seven to at least say goodbye, if not continue. And to abruptly be told, ‘You’re done.’”

The entertainer also went on to address how the show’s surprise ending not only effects him, but also the many other cast and crew members. He continued:

“I care about my family. My crew. The writers, the producers, the caterers, the wardrobe, the sound mixers, the teamsters, the construction crew, a whole lot of people that are abruptly being told that ‘You don’t matter. Sorry, thank you for your services. Good luck and find a new job.’ And to me, that’s not okay.”

While it seems Moore is certain he will recover from the loss, he does seem hopeful the right amount of noise can make a change.

The TV star ended his discussion, asking for supporters to join his cause stating:

“I’m asking my homies, my fans and my baby girls, and the rest of the world who follow me or follow the show, follow the cast, my brothers and my sisters: Make some f*cking noise. And let them know that canceling ‘S.W.A.T.’ is a f*cking mistake.”
