Khloe & Tristan’s Son Had Kardashian Last Name At Birth, Later Changed To Thompson

It looks like Khloe Kardashian had a change of heart when it came to naming her son.

According to reports, Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s son, Tatum Thompson, was originally given the last name Kardashian.

Sources also revealed that Tatum, 10 months, was not his first name either. Reportedly, the newborn was listed as “Baby” until the reality star came up with the name Tatum. Eventually, Khloe Kardashian changed her mind about the baby’s surname and had Tatum’s legally changed to Thompson.

Although it’s unclear why Khloe initially used the Kardashian last name for her son, some would guess it had to do with Tristan’s cheating scandal. As previously reported, news broke that Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloe and fathered a child with fitness model, Maralee Nichols, around the same time Khloe was expecting her son with Tristan via surrogate.

In July 2022, it was revealed that Khloe and Tristan were expecting a son via surrogate–just a few months after his paternity scandal made headlines.

Maralee Nichols sued Tristan for child support and alleged he offered to pay her $75,000 to keep quiet about their baby. Since then, the pair have reached an agreement. According to reports, Tristan has agreed to pay $9,500 a month in child support to the mother of his second-youngest child.

Maralee Nichols & SonSince the scandal, things between Khloe and Tristan have seemed to improve. At the top of the year, Khloe showed support for Tristan, who had suddenly lost his mother due to a heart attack.

Also, back in March, the Good American co-founder gave her baby daddy a heartwarming birthday shout-out.

In the caption of her post, she praised Tristan Thompson for being an amazing “father, brother & uncle.” She wrote,

“Happy birthday [Tristan Thompson], You are truly the best father, brother & uncle. Your love, attention, silly dances, hugs, carpool rides, bed time rituals, the way u show up for them.”

Khloe Kardashian continued,

“All of the above means more than you’ll ever know to your family of littles. My birthday wish for u is that u continue to crave change, healing, and transformation. Be strong, be kind, be patient, be free. Continue to Make your soul and your mommy proud. Happy birthday baby daddy.”

It’s safe to say the former love birds have definitely come a long way.
