Nicki Minaj’s Neighbors Start Petition To Have Her Family Removed From Their Community Due To Husband Kenneth Petty’s Previous Attempted Rape & Murder Charges
Despite being loved millions around the world, it seems rap super star Nicki Minaj is not welcomed everywhere.
After purchasing a new home in an upscale California community, the Young Money artist’s alleged neighbors seemingly started a petition to have her and her family removed from their community.
The petition was seemingly created by a woman named Beverly Bardan. In her call to action the Hidden Hills resident urged neighbors, as well as anyone who cares, to sign the protest document in efforts to have the Petty’s barred from the neighborhood. In the bio she wrote:
“Nicki Minaj and her husband, registered sex offender Kenneth Petty, have purchased a house in our neighborhood of Hidden Hills at 5510 Jed Smith Rd. Kenneth Petty is a level 3 sex offender, convicted for the attempted rape of a 16 year old girl, and has a high likelihood to reoffend. He was also found guilty for killing a man. He is currently under house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender in California as law demands it.”
And continued:
“The Petty couple moving in would lead to appraisal value of our homes to go DOWN due to safety concerns. It would lead to children and women being a target. We, the residents of Hidden Hills, must put our resident’s safety first. Don’t wait to receive a letter from the government saying a predator has moved in near you. DO NOT allow this dangerous sex offender to live near you, SHOW that you are against sex offenders in our Hidden Hills neighborhood!”
Kenneth Petty’s past has certainly caused a significant amount of issues for he and his famous wife over the years. As the petition states, the 45-year-old is currently on house arrest after failing to register as a sex offender upon moving to the West Coast state. Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Miraj-Petty, 40, has stood by her husband throughout the ordeal regularly defending him. The couple actually launched a lawsuit against the state of New York following Petty’s arrest in California, claiming that their home state never notified him that he’s still considered a sex offender under their state guidelines.
The legal drama resurfaced back in 2018 after the alleged victim Jennifer Hough claimed she was being harassed by the “Queen” artist and her husband. Allegedly, she was being pressured to recant her previous statements about the attack, and went on different platforms to speak out about her experience. After years of going back and forth, Petty was ordered to settle the harrassment dispute with Hough back in December of last year. There have been no updates regarding the matter at this time.
It seems that some people agree with Barbra on not wanting the Petty family living in the Hidden Hills area. Many commented showing their support and concerns about the cause. One user wrote:
“This man is a menace to society and doesn’t need to be in these upscale neighborhoods. Send him back to the street corners of queens where he belongs.”
While another added:
“This petition has reached me in the Philippines. Sex offenders are disgusting and they need to be held accountable! That man needs to be in JAIL and not roaming freely in a mansion with a CHILD present.”
However, it’s imperative to note that since the petition began last year it has only seen around 500 signatures. It does not seem that Minaj herself has reacted to the document at this time.
