Update: JT’s Blowup w/ Lil Uzi Vert During BET Awards Had Nothing To Do w/ Ice Spice, Insiders Claim

Update: (Jun. 26, 2023): JT’s team wants the world to know that her blowup with Lil Uzi Vert at the BET Awards had nothing to do with Ice Spice!

According to TMZ, insiders close to the “Act Bad” artist said she became angry after losing her seat when the audience was shuffled around. Her team reportedly added that she loves Ice Spice and has no issue with the New York native at all.

Original story: (Jun. 26, 2023): This year’s BET Awards went out with a bang… literally!

If you didn’t know, City Girls’ JT and her rap bae, Lil Uzi Vert, had a run-in amid the cultural night, and it was (allegedly) over Lil Uzi Vert “talking” to fellow lyricist Ice Spice.

Speculation surrounding the occurrence, which took place live (on Sunday, Jun. 25), kicked off after a clip of JT hurling her cell phone at Lil Uzi Vert went viral.

In the now-controversial video — before smacking the “Just Wanna Rock” rhymer with her device — JT yelled:

“F*cking goofy!”

She then scoffed at a (seemingly) caught-off-guard Vert:

“F*ck wrong with you? B*tch!”

Ultimately, the “Good Love” phenomenon left the vicinity, but before walking away she added:

“Don’t f*cking try me like that! B*tch-a** n*gga!”

Of course, JT also made sure that she retrieved her phone before briefly leaving the scene. While it isn’t confirmed that “Munch” emcee Ice Spice was the root of JT’s outburst at the ceremony, an attendee of the show (by the social handle of 4everchantel) uploaded a few Instagram Stories with the claim.

The young woman captioned the recording of JT’s talked-about spiral:

“Jt got mad at Uzi for talking to Ice spice.”

Additionally, she reported that JT and Vert’s argument carried on for nearly 20 minutes, and there was even a point where JT and Ice Spice had a calm exchange.

Eventually, the “Act Up” rapstress and Vert exited the event together. Additional footage also captured   (what appeared to be) the two talking it out following the “fight.”

It’s rumored that JT’s blowup could’ve been a result of Vert giving Spice a shoutout at the end of their performance, too.

Neither party involved has spoken out publicly about the matter… yet. However, Spice did take to her Twitter and refer to the BET Awards as “ghetto.”

She also shared a flick of her and Vert in the audience on her Instagram, and many have said that JT liked the photo. The carousel featured other behind-the-scenes shots of Spice.

Fans of the pair have since gone bonkers over the entire incident.

While some found it to be quite comical, others posed the question of why “domestic violence” is (seemingly) more acceptable when a woman is the aggressor.
