The comedy-drama, which debuted on the network in 2016, is the first HBO original to hit Netflix under a recently-established licensing agreement with its parent group Warner Bros. Discovery.
According to details surrounding the deal, the media conglomerate made the business move to (seemingly) increase the production’s reach and bring in a new wave of viewership.
In addition to ‘Insecure”s introduction to Netflix, fellow heavy-hitter shows like ‘Band of Brothers,’ ‘The Pacific, ‘Six Feet Under,‘ and ‘Ballers’ are also in negotiations to join the video-on-demand service.
