Madonna Was Reportedly Revived By Narcan Injection During Medical Scare

It looks like Madonna’s recent medical scare was far worse than anyone could imagine.

As previously reported, the Queen of Pop was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in New York last month. Madonna’s talent manager and producer Guy Oseary revealed that the singer developed a “serious bacterial infection” on June 24 that led to multiple days in the ICU.

He shared,

“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

He added,

“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Now, according to new reports, when Madonna, 64, was found unresponsive, medics were forced to administer a NARCAN injection. NARCAN is an emergency medical treatment commonly used to reverse the life-threatening effects of a suspected narcotic overdose. However, it is also used to help reverse acute septic shock in patients.

A NARCAN injection can help increase blood pressure in the management of septic shock – a widespread infection causing organ failure and dangerously low blood pressure. Septic shock is the most severe stage of sepsis. Sepsis occurs when your immune system has an extreme reaction to an infection. The inflammation throughout your body can cause dangerously low blood pressure.

Madonna had dealt with a fever for about a month, but seemingly kept it to herself. The “Material Girl” singer was reportedly intubated for at least one night at a New York hospital before having the tube removed and was hooked up to a ventilator for several days. While Madonna is on the road to recovery, sources claim she remains  “weak and very tired” following the ordeal.

Insiders also shared Madonna may have pushed herself too hard to get ready for her 84-date world tour. So much so, that the singer was reportedly using painkillers to keep her going.

A source said,

“She was working overtime, but she clearly burnt herself out and people around her have been politely reminding her that she is not 45 anymore, let alone 25. She needed to pace herself. Pushing herself so hard was extremely risky.”

According to sources, Madonna is taking her health scare very seriously.

An insider said,

“Although Madonna is looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible,’ sources said, ‘she’s also taking her recovery seriously and isn’t going to rush anything because she is focused on her health above all else.”

They added,

“It’s a work in progress but she’s feeling confident and better every day.”
