Tyler Perry & Beyonce’s Publicist Yvette Noel-Schure Offering $100k Reward For Key Information On The Death Of Josiah “Jonty” Robinson, Who Was Reportedly Murdered For Being Gay
Sad news.
Tyler Perry and Beyonce’s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure are fighting for justice for their dear friend, Grenadian singer/model Josiah “Jonty” Robinson.
Robinson was tragically murdered last month. His body was found on the popular BBC beach in the Morne Rouge area of Grenada on June 18.
According to the police report, Jonty died from “manual strangulation.” The report read,
“The results said basically manual strangulation with injuries to the cervical spine.”
The report indicated that after Jonty was strangled his body was thrown into the seawater. Trinidad & Tobago Pathologist Professor Hubert Daisley, who conducted an autopsy, said,
“When they threw him in the water, water went inside him and rigor mortis took place – that is why all the blood came out.”
He continued,
“After he was thrown into the water rigor mortis, algor mortis and the play of the gases during the composition caused the blood to flow out in the mouth, nose and ears. There were no injuries to the head.”
The tragic murder of Jonty has sparked outrage in the LGBTQ community, with many claiming that he was targeted for being gay.
Now Tyler Perry and Yvette Noel-Schure are demanding justice for the 23-year-old. The famed director/producer took to Instagram to reveal that he and Yvette are offering $100,000 to anyone who brings forth information that leads to the conviction of the murderer.
Perry wrote in part,
“A few days ago I got an extremely heartbreaking phone call from my friend, Yvette Noel-Schure. Through her tears and grief she was telling me that in her home country of Grenada, a young man that was like a son to her was murdered. My soul ached as she shared that he was a young, gifted singer who was murdered because he was gay. My mind immediately went to Mathew Shepard, and all the other victims of racist, homophobic, antisemitic, xenophobic, senseless violence. This kid was 23, how is this ok? His mother is devastated. “
He continued,
“The pain of not knowing is truly gut-wrenching. So with that said, Yvette and I are offering a $100,000 dollar reward to anyone who brings forth information that leads to the conviction of the murderer of Josiah “Jonty” Robinson. Please pray for his mother and Yvette and all of those that loved him, as well as every family who has been impacted by senseless violence.

On the day of his passing, Yvette penned a heartfelt message to Jonty.
“Just minutes before the show tonight in Amsterdam I got word that my beautiful JONTY @josiah_gnd was gone. I prayed it to be a lie. JONTY was my bonus son in Grenada. He never left my side when I was home. He showed up with his handsome face, wide smile and world class curiosity about everything. We talked endlessly on beaches, on boats, at restaurants. He helped with my big birthday party. He helped me when I made the education donation to my school. He helped me plan a Little Mermaid premiere for kids in Grenada. He became family. I was taken in by his authenticity, his creativity, his big heart. He was my favorite dancing partner. Not just to do a two-step but to pelt waist and mash up the place. He was an artist in every sense of the word and he had big plans. What a great friendship we formed.”
She continued,
“He was 17 when he said hello to me outside a supermarket on the island. He became a new part of my tribe. A beautiful addition to my strong circle on the island. JONTY, you made your mark. In Grenada and in my heart. Thank you. Thank you. What will we all do without you? Why is the world so dark right now? I think of your beautiful mommy. Your brother. Your whole family. Your love for them. I am praying for them. I owed you a call. Today was the day I looked at my message to you saying calling you as soon as I got the first break. JONTY!! I am calling you. I am screaming for you. I am so sorry your light went out so early. I know you will illuminate the other side so beautifully but I will miss you here. I love you forever, my friend. Rest well, my love.”
Police are still investigating the murder of Jonty Robinson.
Our thoughts on prayers go out to Jonty’s loved ones during this difficult time.
