Nia Long Wants Court To Grant Her Full Legal & Physical Custody Of Son w/ Ime Udoka Following His Cheating Scandal
Actress Nia Long is making a custody move against her ex-fiancé.
According to a recent report from RadarOnline, “The Best Man” star has requested full custody of the son she shares with NBA coach Ime Udoka in the wake of his cheating scandal.
Reportedly, Nia Long, 52, submitted documents asking the court to give her full physical and legal custody of her 11-year-old son Kez. The film star welcomed her second child, first with Ime Udoka, 46, during their 13-year relationship. It’s noted in the report that the legal documents filed are to “determine a parental relationship” as the pair never wed, despite becoming engaged back in 2015.
Additionally, Long is reportedly seeking for her ex to cover all her legal fees and included the stipulation that Udoka should have visitation rights. The judge has yet to rule on the matter, and it doesn’t seem the NBA professional has responded publicly to the motion.

Following nearly a year out of work, Udoka finally caught a break, signing on as the new head coach for the Houston Rockets. It doesn’t seem that he and the woman he had the affair with are still together, and he’s been radio silent on his dating life since.
As far as Long goes, she’s been very vocal about the damaging effects the situation has had on her and her son. Specifically, the entertainer shared her disappointment that the NBA organization opted to take the info public, claiming no one even reached out to her family to check on their well-being. In an interview subsequent to the debacle, she stated:
“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,”
Adding:
“No one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK….It’s very disappointing.”
Regarding her dating life, Long has made it clear she’s moved on from the relationship, forgoing her engagement ring and sharing glimpses of a new apartment. The actress has not spoken publicly about her recent motion at this time.
