Update: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Alum Jenelle Evans Calls Police After Son Goes Missing For Second Time In Two Weeks

Update: (Aug. 30, 2023): Reality TV star Jenelle Evans recently had to call the cops again to help track down her teenage son Jace.

As previously reported, earlier this month reports broke that Jenelle and her mother Barbara Evans weren’t seeing eye to eye over the type of care the 14-year-old should be receiving. Jace reportedly cut school and ran away from home, which Barbara blamed her daughter for. According to Barbara, after Jenelle regained custody of the young teen, she took him off his ADHD medication and ended his behavioral therapy sessions. However, Jenelle has denied her mother’s allegations. 

Unfortunately, Jace seems to still be struggling with behavioral issues. New reports claim that he went missing again on Monday (Aug. 28), just two weeks after his first disappearing act. 

This time around, he allegedly told his mother he was going for a walk on their property but didn’t return home on time. After several hours of not hearing from her child, Jenelle called the authorities. Jace was ultimately found at a gas station about 10 minutes from Jenelle’s home, reports claim. 

A rep for the MTV personality shared with TMZ that Jace is back home, doing fine, and “is just a typical teen being a teen.”

Original story: (Aug. 17, 2023): Looks like the infamous mother-daughter duo from “Teen Mom 2″ still aren’t seeing eye to eye.

Jenelle and Barbara Evans reportedly have been having a heated back-and-forth exchange in recent interviews, discussing their conflicting views on the teenager they’ve both cared for.

Earlier this week, Jenelle Evans’ 14-year-old son Jace caused his family a scare after skipping school and not returning home. Reportedly, he was soon found safe after police put out a notice of his disappearance.

Jenelle’s pregnancy with Jace launched her reality TV stardom back in 2009, starring on the MTV series “16 and Pregnant” alongside her mother Barbara. The mother-daughter pair often bickered with each other, which seemingly only got worse as the show continued. Today, it doesn’t seem like their relationship has gotten any better.

In response to Jace running away, Barbara has reportedly placed the blame on Jenelle, claiming the teen is spiraling due to her daughter taking him off his ADHD medication.

According to Barbara, while she had custody of Jace, he had been taking the medicine for 7 years along with regularly attending behavioral therapy sessions, which allegedly kept him on the straight and narrow.

Reportedly, the grandmother also claimed that Jenelle ended his therapy sessions after regaining custody of him back in March, effectively causing his recent behavioral issues.

However, Janelle fired back, shooting down her mom’s accusations, and reportedly stated that they haven’t been on speaking terms as of late.

“Barbara has not been in contact with Jace since Monday. I have cut off contact with her as of 3 weeks ago. Barbara doesn’t have any idea what is going on inside my home. Jace had a therapist appointment today on zoom at 10:30am … she hasn’t even attempted to speak to Jace directly.”

It’s important to note that it’s unclear whether or not the therapy was scheduled before Jace ran away. Furthermore, Jenelle said that her son leaving home is “nothing different” than what other parents with teenagers go through.

“Jace, got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that’s when he decided to run off, Jace is a good kid and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children.”

Reportedly, Barbara went on to confirm that her daughter has indeed ended communication with her, so she does have limited knowledge about the situation. Additionally, she claimed that she doesn’t want to fight with her child, but wants what’s best for Jace. There has been no update on how the teenager is doing since returning home at this time.
