50 Cent Says He Fired His Entire Audio Team After Throwing A Broken Mic & Hitting An Audience Member + Rapper Seemingly Shades Lil Wayne For Allegedly Dropping Out Of His Show As A Surprise Guest

Hip hop icon 50 Cent spoke about his recent mic tossing incident, sort of.

The rap star took to instagram over the weekend (September 2nd), sharing what went down after several mics malfunctioned at one of his recent shows, and seemingly took a jab at Lil Wayne as well.

50 Cent

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, 48, shared two articles about fellow rapper Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter, 40. The headline of one of the reposts read:

“Lil Wayne Suffers Embarrassing Mic Issues During Opening For Beyoncé Days After Storming Out of 50 Cent [Show]”

Added as a caption, the “21 Questions” artist wrote:

“D**n only thing left is Taylor swift show. I fired everyone involved in the audio department, if the mic don’t work your a** don’t work here.”

The other image 50 shared a was a story from Hip Hop DX, claiming that Lil Wayne “scrapped” his surprise performance with 50 after a “scuffle” took place backstage. According to the report, Wayne was set to take the stage during a stop on his fellow artists’ current “Final Lap Tour”. However, the “Carter V” rapper reportedly left the venue after being pushed by one of the backstage workers. It’s noted in the report that it’s unclear how serious the incident was or if the individual did it purposefully, but it seems to have been enough to prompt Wayne to make his exit.

Lil Wayne

A stage hand reportedly present when the altercation went down told the news outlet:

“He just stormed out…He was in the building for about 20 minutes total.”

Subsequently, this past Friday (September 1st), it’s reported that Wayne experienced mic issues while opening up for superstar singer Beyoncé. The “Renaissance” artist’s tour stopped in L.A. that day, where Wayne and several others opened up her California show. It’s unclear whether or not Wayne was the only one to struggle with audio issues, but the moment apparently gave 50 the perfect opportunity to make subtly give his typical troll like commentary. However, the rapper certainly may have more pressing matters to concern himself with.

As we reported a few days ago, 50 may be facing a felony charge for losing his temper due to the audio issues that happened at his own L.A. concert. While the musician says he fired his audio team following the blunder, he has reportedly not been cleared of the criminal charges filed against him. While the rap star did not address the potential lawsuit in his recent post, his lawyer reportedly released a statement shortly after the incident happened, stating:

“Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client, Curtis [50 Cent], would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone…Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”

Police are reportedly still investigating the matter at this time.
