Anthony Mackie Trends As Public Reacts To Footage Of Actor Refusing To Take Picture w/ Young Fan: ‘When Are Ya’ll Going To Learn To Leave [Him] Alone’

Anthony Mackie has sparked a debate after refusing to take a picture with a fan.

The footage of the incident was shared online but has since been deleted. In the clip, a woman approached Anthony Mackie after he initially denied a request to take a picture with a young Black boy. The woman – who appeared to want clarity on why the Marvel star said no – asked him,

“Would you please take a picture with my grandson?”

However, Anthony Mackie stood firm on his no and replied,

“I can not take a picture.”

When the woman said, “So, you can not and you will not,” he simply replied,

“Absolutely not.”

After the footage gained a lot of attention online, the alleged mother of the boy who asked the Captain America actor for a picture explained what occurred. The woman – named Aundra – said in posts shared to her IG Stories,

“No one ever believes when I say the new black Captain America (Anthony Mackey) does not take pictures with kids. Little black boys who look up to him in New Orleans.”

Aundra continued,

“Don’t get me wrong. I understand celebrities wanting their space etc. But kids? Every single time? Your a super hero sir In the MARVEL UNIVERSE.”

Aundra then explained that no one believed her when she said Anthony Mackie turned her son away, so her mother’s friend took the young boy back to ask, again, for a picture. However, his “hero” didn’t have a change of heart.

“Then my moms friend was like. I know he didn’t say no. Let me take him back over there. Which is the video y’all saw. My 11yr old son happened to be recording out of excitement. Imagine your hero, from New Orleans also. Doing that.”

Aundra seemingly isn’t the only person who has had an ill experience while meeting Anthony Mackie. After she spoke out, a few former fans of the entertainer sent DMs claiming they had similar interactions with him.

In addition, others have taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to debate whether Anthony Mackie was wrong or not.
