Drake & Jennifer Lopez Sign Open Letter Calling For A Ceasefire In Gaza Amid Ongoing War Between Hamas & Israeli Government

Drake and Jennifer Lopez have joined the list of high-profile entertainers calling for an immediate order to stop the attacks in Gaza.

According to reports, Drake and Jennifer Lopez are amongst over 200 musical artists to sign their names on an open letter to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress. The artists reportedly came together as “Artists4Ceasefire” to push for a conflict resolution amid the violent war taking place between Israel and Palestine.

In part, the lengthy letter reads,

“We come together as artists and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine. We ask that, as President of the United States, you and the US Congress call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost.”

It continues,

“We urge your administration, Congress, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages. Half of Gaza’s two million residents are children, and more than two thirds are refugees and their descendants being forced to flee their homes. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach them.”

The letter further details the thousands of innocent lives that have been caught in the cross-fire of the ongoing violence since it began on October 7 with a surprise terrorist attack by Hamas militants.

As previously reported, Palestinian aggressors launched a missile attack that resulted in the death of 1,400 Israeli citizens, including 260 at a music festival. In addition, Hamas took roughly 220 Israeli hostages during the initial attack. Israel swiftly retaliated by dropping bombs on the Gaza Strip where over 1 million Palestinian citizens reside in an attempt to wipe out Hamas.

According to a recent report, more than 8,000 Palestinians have been killed due to Israel’s bombings and ground invasion, with most of the casualties being women and children.

While the letter from the various artists is advocating for a ceasefire, Canadian rapper Drake’s support comes after he was slammed by media personality DJ Vlad for initially not speaking out about the Gaza-Israel conflict.

Earlier this month, DJ Vlad took to Instagram to call out Drake and producer DJ Khaled for staying quiet on the situation.

DJ Vlad, real name Vladimir Lyubovny, said,

“Has anyone noticed that the most famous Jewish person on Earth, Drake, and the most famous Palestinian person on Earth, DJ Khaled, haven’t said a single thing about the Gaza-Israel conflict? It’s not like Drake is too busy. He’s been writing paragraphs about Joe Budden hurting his feelings about his new album. DJ Khaled has been working overtime promoting his new Jordan sneakers. But both of them have been silent on this topic. Why is that? It’s because both are so thirsty to maintain their relevance that they wouldn’t dare risk insulting a segment of their fanbase.”

He added,

“Heaven forbid that Drake might debut at #2 behind Taylor Swift because some of his Palestinian fans chose to not stream his album. And it would be the end of the world of Khaled sold a few less sneakers because some Jewish people decided not to buy his Jordans. That’s the difference between artists of today and timeless legends like 2Pac. You know d*mn well Pac would be the first one to speak out about something so close to home.”

On the other hand, filmmaker Jordan Peele recently faced backlash for signing a pinned letter in support of Israel to continue the siege until the remaining hostages have been freed.

The letter, also sent to President Joe Biden and signed by several other entertainers, allegedly condemned the reported terrorist group Hamas and demanded they release all captives.
