Update: (Jan. 2, 2024): New details surrounding the death of Forest Whitaker’s ex-wife Keisha Whitaker have been revealed.
As previously reported, In December news broke that Keisha unfortunately passed away at the age of 51. Today (Jan. 2) it was revealed that she died from alcoholic liver disease. The death certificate, which was issued by L.A. County and obtained by TMZ, reportedly says she battled with the illness for years before her passing. In addition, the document notes acute renal failure — a symptom of anorexia — contributed to the model’s death.

Actor Forest Whitaker’s ex-wife, Keisha Whitaker has passed away at the age of 51. The former couple married in 1996 and welcomed three daughters before Forest, 62, filed for divorce in 2018. Forest and Keisha’s 25-year-old daughter True Whitaker broke the news about the unfortunate situation. In a post shared to her Instagram Stories, True wrote,
“goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond. the most beautiful woman in the world … thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart.”

At this time the cause of death has not officially been revealed. However, some reports claim it may have had something to do with anorexia. Allegedly, Keisha passed away earlier this week following hospital stays over the past few months for intestinal problems. It’s reported that her death came after a years-long battle with anorexia. An insider shared with another publication,
“Keisha battled anorexia for years. And in 2014 she entered rehab in Chicago. Forrest stayed by her side during those difficult times, but the following year he filed for divorce.”
