Jonathan Majors Claims To Have The ‘Utmost Respect For Coretta Scott King’ As He Responds To Backlash For Comparing Ex & Girlfriend Meagan Good To Activist

Jonathan Majors is doing what he can to clear up his questionable remarks about Coretta Scott King.

As previously reported, the former Marvel star recently found himself in the hot seat for claiming his current girlfriend Meagan Good held him “down like a Coretta [Scott King]” as he faced domestic violence allegations from his ex, Grace Jabbari. To make matters worse, that wasn’t the first time Jonathan Majors used the activist’s name while speaking about a girlfriend. During his trial, it was revealed that while the “Lovecraft Country” actor was dating Grace Jabbari he told her that she needed to behave more like Martin Luther King Jr.’s wife or Michelle Obama.

Following Jonathan Majors’ comments about Meagan Good, Coretta Scott King and MLK’s daughter, Dr. Bernice King, seemingly called Majors out for his remarks. In a post shared to X, formally known as Twitter, she wrote,

“My mother wasn’t a prop. She was a peace advocate before she met my father and was instrumental in him speaking out against the Vietnam War. Please understand…my mama was a force.”

Well, it seems that Majors heard Dr. Bernice King loud and clear. In a statement shared with TMZ, he explained his remarks regarding Coretta Scott King and said,

“My intention was to convey my utmost respect for Coretta Scott King, her achievements, and both her personal legacy and the one she shares with her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King.”

He continued, sharing that Coretta,

“is a great woman, a very important figure in American and world history, and someone both Meagan and I are inspired by and deeply admire.”

At this time, it doesn’t seem that Dr. Bernice King has addressed Majors’ latest statement.
