Yo Gotti’s Brother ‘Big Jook’ Trends Following His Death, Social Media Speculates If His Murder Was In Retaliation For Young Dolph’s Death
Prayers up for the family and friends of rapper Yo Gotti’s brother.
According to several news reports, the Memphis native’s older sibling Anthony ‘Big Jook’ Mims was tragically shot and killed.
Reportedly, the shooting took place outside of Perignons Restaurant and Event Center in Memphis yesterday (Saturday, January 13th). Police state that Mims as well as his famous brother Mario ‘Yo Gotti’ Mims, 42, were attending a funeral shortly before the incident, though the musician was reportedly not present at the time of the gunfire. There is reportedly a second unidentified victim who was struck by bullets, however, and is currently in critical condition at the hospital.

At this time, there aren’t many details about the nature of Mims‘ killing. Authorities have reported they believe the two victims were targeted. Reportedly, they are investigating surveillance footage that caught the assassination on nearby cameras. Social media users have theorized a motive all on their own, however, with many expressing their opinion that it could be a retaliation murder for the 2021 killing of Memphis based rapper Young Dolph.
If you recall the musician, real name Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., was similarly shot and killed at an eatery in Tennessee. At the time, many speculated that Yo Gotti had something to due with the incident, as the two rappers and their labels famously had an ongoing beef with one another. The “Rack It Up” artist was even named in a different attempt on Dolph’s life back in 2017, though he was eventually cleared as a suspect. Since his brother’s passing, videos of Big Jook seemingly taking shots at Young Dolph and his music artists after his passing have resurfaced, sparking a conversation around if his death is in retaliation.
