MC Lyte Posts Her Boyfriend Who She Seemingly Has Been Dating Since Finalizing Her Divorce

Hip hip icon MC Lyte is still going strong with her latest relationship.

The 53-year-old was all smiles while posing next to her boo in a recent picture while championing for her team, the San Fransisco 49ers, to claim a spot in the upcoming Super Bowl championship.

In the post uploaded to her instagram page MC Lyte, real name Lana Michele Moorer, was decked out in 49ers gear while laughing and posing for the adorable photo-op. As a caption to her post, the disc jokey wrote:

“My boo, my love Super Bowl, let’s go!!”

While the famous emcee didn’t include a tag nor any other information about her boo, the unconfirmed word on the street is that his name is Aaron Johnson and he’s a professional in the tech industry. Allegedly, he’s 43-years-old and first met Lyte while attending a philanthropic event, immediately connecting over their shared passion for community work. Johnson is said to be the brains behind multiple startup companies in the tech space, and has been dating the musician for at least a year now. Back in January of 2023, Lyte first shared a picture of the two to her instagram page with the caption:

“This is Winning. 2023. . . I’m ready.”

Prior to her latest relationship, Lyte spent three years in a marriage with Marine Corps veteran and entrepreneur John Wyche. The pair first began dating in 2016 after meeting on match.com and had a quick engagement the following year before tying the knot. Ultimately ending the relationship due to “irreconcilable differences”, the New York native has since opened about the split, admitting to being distraught in the beginning and sharing the difficulties of going through a divorce. She stated at the time:

“I think in the very beginning I was very distraught. I feel like there are phases whenever a relationship is ending whether you’re married or not. It’s that first phase of, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got to make this work for us’. Then it’s like, ‘Oh my God I’ve got to make this work for everybody else involved. The family, if there are children, people who flew all the way to wherever to see you married.’” 

Adding:

“It’s hard in the beginning but you realize to have happiness doesn’t mean you have to remain together and it doesn’t mean that you are a failure because the marriage failed. It’s all ego. You just have to be able to let go.”

After nearly two years of negotiations, Lyte and Wyche were finally able to finalize the separation with the judge awarding her ownership of her music catalog. The celebrity subsequently made it clear that the ex was never after any of her assets, but simply did not want the relationship to end.
