Shannon Sharpe Reacts To Comedian Eddie Griffin Accusing Him Of Being Gay: ‘Please Tell Me You’re Not Running Out Of Jokes’

Shannon Sharpe says he’s done paying any mind to the claims that he’s gay.

Over the weekend, comedian Eddie Griffin became the latest comedian to question Shannon Sharpe over his sexuality. During Eddie Griffin’s recent standup set, he spoke on the former NFL star’s viral interview with fellow comedian Katt Williams on “Club Shay Shay.”

As you may recall, the sit-down between Sharpe and Katt Williams, 52, gained mass attention online, mostly due to the nature surrounding the conversation between and Katt Williams calling out his colleagues for allegedly stealing his ideas.

During Eddie Griffin’s show, he mentioned that he and Katt Williams are the last two comedians who haven’t worn a dress and even suggested that the pair embark on a “Non-Wearing A Dress Tour.” The 55-year-old actor then took a jab at Sharpe.

He told the crowd,

“And Club Shay Shay. Yeah, Shay Shay. Gay gay. I don’t give a f*ck, that n*gg* gay n*gg*. That n*gg* sitting there with them tight *ss pants on with his b*lls and d*ck all up in Katt’s face.” 

Griffin added,

“You can tell how that n*gg* drink that he gay. He kept on saying, ‘now, now Katt.’ [sips drink] That’s d*ck lips n*gg*! That m*th*f*ck* had d*ck on them lips, don’t no n*gg* drink like that.”

As previously reported, earlier this month, comedian Mike Epps, 53, also accused Sharpe of being gay.

Following Griffin’s comedy show, the 55-year-old podcaster hit back with a response of his own. Sharpe addressed Griffin’s and other comedians’ recent comments during an episode of his talk series “Nightcap.” While speaking to his co-host Chad Ochocinco, Sharpe said,

“I mean, that’s what they want to do, fine, have at it. I gave my sister my word, I’m moving on.”

He continued,

“What they’re doing now is that they found out that Shannon is the hot thing. They using the same joke. But at some point in time it’s gon’ get old and people are going to get tired of y’all saying that Shannon gay, and Shannon this, and you going to have to get back to telling jokes. Please tell me you’re not running out of jokes.”

Sharpe concluded with,

“Please tell me you’re not going to use Shannon as your punchline for the next 3, 4, 5 years. You’re going to have to start telling jokes. Please tell me you got jokes.”
