Hoda Kotb Invites Kelly Rowland Back On ‘Today’ Show Following Dressing Room Fiasco, Says She Has ‘Great Love & Admiration’ For The Entertainer

Hoda Kotb is addressing Kelly Rowland’s (rumored) tense departure from the set of the “Today” show last week.

The television personality has enthusiastically welcomed singer/actress Kelly Rowland to return to the show at any time!

Hoda Kotb extended the invitation during Tuesday’s episode (Feb. 20) of “Today With Hoda & Jenna,”  expressing that both she and Jenna Bush Hager agree that Kelly Rowland is “always welcome” on the show.

While discussing the topic, Hoda Kotb said,

“I just wanna say this, I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her. And I want her to come back on our show, and I want her to host again. She can share my dressing room — we’ll be in it together!”

The warm invite follows strong rumors that Rowland walked off set moments before she was slated to co-host the fourth hour of the NBC talk series alongside Hoda Kotb.

As previously reported, Rowland made an early morning appearance on the “Today” show last Thursday (Feb. 15) to discuss her new film “Mea Culpa.” The film, a steamy thriller from Tyler Perry, revolves around a defense attorney who becomes entangled with one of her clients.

Rowland was scheduled to remain and serve as a guest host on “Today With Hoda & Jenna,” substituting for Jenna Bush Hager. However, she reportedly departed over issues with her dressing room.

A source close to the incident shared,

“Kelly walked out because she and her team didn’t like her dressing room.”

The former Destiny’s Child member purportedly asked for a better green room upstairs, but it was already occupied by Jennifer Lopez, who was present to promote her new album “This Is Me… Now” as well as the Prime Video film that accompanies it.

British Singer Rita Ora was selected to step in and take Rowland’s place.

The source continued,

“Rita Ora agreed to fill in at the last minute. Many people at the show, inside and outside of the show, were impressed with how great she was.”

Rowland appeared on the “Sherri” daytime talk show on Monday (Feb. 19), and according to the award-winning singer, she was pleased with her treatment while there.

During her interview with host Sherri Shepherd, Rowland stated,

“I have to tell you. Thank you for being light, positive energy in this space. In this time. We needed you, and I thank you so much for your light.”
