DDG Says Halle Bailey’s Pregnancy ‘Kinda Just Happened,’ Reveals They ‘Weren’t Aiming For A Baby’

DDG is opening up about his and Halle Bailey’s journey to becoming new parents.

26-year-old rapper DDG discussed with media personality Jason Lee the undisclosed pregnancy journey of himself and his girlfriend, singer and actress Halle Bailey.

In a sneak peek of The Jason Lee Show’s upcoming episode, DDG delves into the pivotal moment when he and Halle Bailey, 23, realized their readiness to embark on parenthood. During the interview, DDG confesses that when he and Halle Bailey found out that they were expecting a child, it wasn’t exactly the result of their planning. He shares,

“We weren’t aiming for a baby, but it just kinda happened. What are we going to do?”

In the sneak peek of the upcoming interview, Jason Lee notes that the young couple, whose relationship became public in March 2022, was deeply engaged in various endeavors before finding out they had a baby on the way.

DDG responds, sharing that despite their busy lives, they welcomed the idea of being parents.

“Both of us have the same interest in being parents. And I feel like she always wanted to be a mom. We always kind of just give off that energy, and I always wanted a kid. So, from there we just made the decision to go through with it.”

Bailey previously disclosed why they decided to keep her pregnancy a secret. In a video shared to Snapchat, she said,

“I really appreciate people who are kind and understanding especially of me wanting to wait to share something this sacred and beautiful.”

The actress continued, explaining her concerted effort to limit her presence on social media during her pregnancy, as she preferred not to address the numerous baby rumors circulating at the time.

“I stayed off all social media, I really tried to, just to keep myself sane and okay. I know there was a lot of people who would always comment and be like, ‘We know, girl, we know,’ and I was like, ‘It’s great that you know but I’m going to just chill.’ That’s wonderful if you support me. If you don’t, I hope you have a wonderful life.”

As previously reported, In January, Bailey revealed via Instagram that she welcomed a son in 2023, and she and DDG named him Halo.

DDG’s full interview with Jason Lee is expected to air today at 4:58 p.m. EST. (Feb. 21).
