The Atlanta rapper has been accused of being the alleged gunman responsible for a 2013 shooting.

According to multiple reports, on Tuesday (Feb. 20), the prosecution in the trial played a 911 call dated Sept. 11, 2013. In the call, a woman told dispatchers Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, was the accused shooter in the incident in 2013. The woman also mentioned to 911 dispatchers that she didn’t see the shooting herself, but someone else passed the information on to her.

She was hearing saying,

“They came to my house and told me that the guy that shot somebody name was Young Thug, whoever that’s supposed to be.”

The attorney for Young Thug reacted to the audio, calling it “hearsay.” He argued that it should not be allowed as evidence in this case.

Defense Attorney Brian Steel said,

“That caller is relying on the supposed neighbor, and we don’t know how the neighbor got that information.”

Countering his argument, Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriana Love argued,

“This is not some secondary or third-party kind of situation, the caller herself has experienced her neighbor coming to her in a panic.”

Prosecutors called on the judge to use the phone call as evidence in this case. The judge has not made a decision yet.

The trial comes after Young Thug and 27 other people, including rapper Gunna, were arrested and named in a sweeping May 2022 indictment. However, according to reports, after a series of plea deals and severances, only six remain, including Deamonte Kendrick, Quamarvious Nichols, Shannon Stillwell, Rodalious Ryan, Marquavious Huey, and, of course, Young Thug.
